It’s Release Day!
Spread the Word
If you enjoy reading Will and Nikhil’s love story, consider leaving a review on Amazon or Goodreads!
Reviews and ratings can *massively* boost exposure and sales. You gotta beat that algorithm and make the trending charts! I kept on writing this book throughout my own transition because it was a book I wished I myself could have read when I felt most alone. I’d be honored if it could get in the hands of even one more trans or queer person who’s in need of the comfort of a happy ending.
Last but not least, no indie book release can be a success without strong word of mouth! Follow along on the release blitz journey on my author twitter, or share this post with your fellow romance-readers using the button below:
Win a Signed Paperback
That’s right, you can win a FREE signed copy of “Names for the Dawn” with just a simple click! Giveaway closes December 16.
Wait, what happened to my pre-order?
To everyone’s unwelcome shock, an unfortunate glitch on behalf of a certain massive online retailer (cough cough) resulted in the pre-orders for NAMES FOR THE DAWN being cancelled and refunded. I am so sorry about that!
While it was impossible to re-instate eBook preorders before release day, I hope you’ll consider ordering your copy again. Or if you were contemplating getting that paperback copy instead, now’s your chance!
Coming Soon . . .
Want more queer romance? You’re in luck, because I have a double-hitter!
Stay tuned for my novelette THE LANTERN LIGHT - coming out this winter.
Eighteenth-century cowboys and twenty-first-century drag queens simply aren’t supposed to meet.
So thinks Peter Johnson when he touches down for his annual visit home to small town Big Timber, Montana. Adopted from China as a baby by his barrel race champion mother, he’s found freedom transforming into Phoenix di Milo every night in San Francisco. He shouldn’t be sitting here among cowboy hats and the horses he’s always feared, keeping up the lifelong lie about who he really is. And he definitely shouldn’t be sneaking out of his house on Christmas morning, trekking through the snow in search of a mysterious light in the woods, like something is missing.
“Mad Amos,” they call him. A recluse hiding on his ranch with only his beloved horse, far away from the people of Big Timber and their venomous stares. The Civil War veteran is horrified when the railroad comes to town. But when Lin Wei arrives with it, his elegant hands rough with labor, Amos Walker has never wanted someone’s company more—a friendship that the righteous Pastor is hellbent to run out of his town.
When Peter Johnson suddenly waltzes into Amos’s cabin, and he’s the spitting image of Lin Wei, Peter and Amos find themselves on the lam from the town mob. Could their Christmas reunion be only a brief fluke of time?
Two hearts, too far apart, with only a lantern light to guide them back to a second chance.
Updates on THE LANTERN LIGHT’s release will be right here, at Just Kiss Already.
Blast from the Past
If you’re reading this newsletter (and if you made it this far down), you’re probably already familiar with my previous book. But just in case, if you’re cold this winter and want to dream of surf, sand, and big waves . . .
Consider checking out my debut novel THE SEA AIN’T MINE ALONE
For James Campbell, winning the 1976 International Surf Competition is the ticket to his future. It's his chance to finally reclaim his life, move on from the war, and make a living doing the only thing that keeps him from walking away from it all.
But his best laid plans are upended completely when two-time Billabong Pipeline Masters Champion Danny Moore steps up next to James on the starting line. The young, mysterious, unbeatable big wave surfer is the man that nobody on the surf circuit can stop whispering about.
For the first time since being shipped back home from Vietnam, James is captivated.
Danny is infamous, and intensely private. He also finds himself desperately wanting to see James Campbell again, even more than he wants to drop in on the North Shore's tallest wave. That first fleeting moment turns the tide for both men, setting them on a path that crosses oceans and defies all odds.
When I was in the 6th grade, our yearbook photos listed what we wanted to be when we grew up. Mine said, “I want to grow up to be a published author of children’s books about the Civil War.”
Yes, I was (ashamedly) a ‘Civil War weirdo’ kid. BUT while I’m a bit off on the content, I can’t say how much it fills me with emotion to be able to say I didn’t just meet my goal of publishing a book once, but twice. And very very soon to be three times, too.
To everyone who has helped me accomplish this goal, I am eternally grateful. If my 6th grade self could see me now, they would say, “Who the fuck is that?” and then quickly afterwards, “Wait, that’s possible for my future? I can’t wait.”
See you in December!
